I have been captivated by this woman recently. Neko Case.
She is also the lead singer with the band The New Pornographers. I saw her recently in Raleigh give a solo concert. She sells herself as an alternative Country Rocker. She is all that and more...

Let us call it what it is...stealing.
Danger lurks in the following articles. The worst thing that could happen is if the Obama administration were to upend property rights and make contracts and what they mean unenforceable. Altering the laws of bankruptcy and who gets what and when is a dangerous precedent. Stay tuned. More is on the way. I hope the Chrysler bond holders take this all the way to the Supreme Court. We'll see how much empathy they get there. Stealing from bond holders moves us closer to Zimbabwe than ever before. Where do you think the loanable funds will come from next time someone issues bonds? If bond holders can not count on the protection of the law, maybe the loanable funds will come from Candyland?

Dr. Rothman hits the bull's eye.
My colleague and friend Phil Rothman has started forecasting the weekly unemployment insurance claims numbers at the web site below. As he explains, the last six recessions have ended within 8 weeks of this series reaching its peak. This is a site worth keeping a close eye on...if this relation holds up, you'll know the recession has bottomed out and recovery has started here first.

Just another way to control your life and tax the hell out of you.
Here's an inconvenient truth...you are full of baloney.

It is going to happen again.
If you think that was the last bubble in the course of economic history, you need to never touch another drop.

Warrior's Reward does it again.
My degenerate horse race gambling buddies and I keyed Warrior's Reward in the early Pick 4 last Friday on Kentucky Oaks Day. Sure enough he won.
Then Calvin Borel climbs aboard Miss Isella and clobbers One Caroline who was at 3-5. Watch the crazy goof go down on the rail and get pounded, but smashes One Caroline at 9-1. I had the ALL in the fourth race of the Pick 4, so this was beautiful.
Think I was smart enough to have Calvin in the Derby? I was alive in the Pick 4 going into the Derby. The 50 cent Pick 4 paid $10,221.15. Not a chance. Like my dad used to say, "Son, a dreamer lives to dream."
