Imagine if the federal government confiscated your retirement account and kept it for themselves. What would be your response? Well that is what they did in Argentina just a few years ago. Now they are banning books. Perhaps a good old fashioned book burning wil lbe next? It is so pathetic but the Argentines keep doing it to themselves. And they continue to want to bring such enlightenment to the Falkland Islands. No gracias.
Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.
Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.
Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.
Demand four: Free college education.
Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.
Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.
Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America's nuclear power plants.
Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.
Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.
Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.
Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.
Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.
Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.
These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.

News Flash to Governor Perry!!!! Ben Bernanke is not the issue. Monetary Policy is not our ticket out. You will not be running against Ben Bernanke if you get the nomination. Know thine opponent!
A student recently commented anonymously in my evaluations for a class I taught this past spring on MACROECON 101: "He knows so much about this subject that he is forcing us to learn so much more than the other sections of the same course, and we are suffering."
So, learning = suffering. I don't really know how to respond to that except to ask...Dude, how far in life do you think you are going to get when your main concern is not how much you are learning but rather how much you are doing compared to others? Equality is murdering excellence everywhere in our world. Especially in the minds of our young.
This photo shows our current Secretary of State holding up the details of her health care plan back in 1993. Let me gently remind any who will listen...one of the main provisions of that plan was to make it illegal and punishable by incarceration if you received outside attention from your personal doctor, even if you paid for it with your own money. That's right, they were going to lock you and your doctor up if any services were received outside the guidelines and auspices of the system. We're talking the big house. Back then Carnival Cruise Lines was outfitting ships for medical cruises 201 miles off the coast of the US outside of the jurisdiction of US laws. Take a cruise, see the doctor, have lunch, do some gambling, come back tomorrow. Make no mistake. One of the hidden desires of Nancy and Harry is to insure you have no different health care experience than anyone else. Even if you have the money to pay for it. I'm not talking about getting in line for organ transplants, I'm talking the whole enchilada. It is not just "let's cover everyone and take care of our fellow citizens' needs." Nope, it is "you should not have more than the next person" even if you work for it and they lay around and smoke crack. No other economic good is viewed in the same way and it is total and utter rot.
All progressives have to do is focus their intellectual energy on any problem, be permitted to pass laws to fix what they have figured out, and the result will be a more rational and efficient system of living. You, thug that you are, are standing in the way.

That is a trick question...they are all Republican twits going after Chairman Bernanke. Keep it up boys and we'll have collectivism for 100 years.
It is 5,218 miles from Washington D.C. to Buenos Aires, Argentina. So from Columbia, South Carolina to Buenos Aires it is just under 5,000. Like the Captain said to Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke "what were you thinking about when you cut them heads off them parking meters?" Luke just said "well, I guess you could say I wasn't thinking Captain." What do you suppose the Governor was thinking about? Like a horse that is too ready to go, seems to me a 5,000 mile ride for a tryst would give a man plenty of time to get all lathered up.
I'm going to be in Buenos Aires one day in July in a year to yet be determined. All I'll have on my mind is ducks and doves. And as they say in horse racing, "you can jot that one down pard."

I have authored two books, Reflections on the Great Depression and The Economics of the Great Depression: A Twenty-First Century Look Back at the Economics of the Interwar Era and edited The Seminal Works of the Great Depression. I am currently working on my fourth book Interwar Historical Antecedents of Modern Inflation Targeting and I am the co-editor (with Robert Whaples) of The Handbook of Major Events in Economic History and The Handbook of Modern Economic History.
I have also traveled the country giving speeches on the state of the macroeconomy and other economic issues to many trade and business associations. When I am not thinking about the economy I am either chasing ducks, handicapping horses or arranging a fine dining experience.
