Golf and life are funny...and you funny too.

Lee Trevino....True story as told by him.

One day, shortly after joining the PGA tour in 1965, Lee Trevino, a professional golfer and married man, was at his home in Dallas , Texas mowing his front lawn, as he always did. A lady driving by in a big, shiny Cadillac stopped in front of his house, lowered the window and asked, "Excuse me, do you speak English ?" Lee responded, "Yes M'aam, I do" The lady then asked, "What do you charge to do yard work ?" Lee said, "Well, the lady in this house lets me sleep with her". The lady hurriedly put the car into gear and sped off.

This is just plain stupid...and I'm not happy.

You know when I bring out my "jack ass" photo I am disgusted. Well, I am disgusted. Raising the dividend tax rate to an effective rate of 64.1% is whacky. But here we go. Don't blame China or India or anybody else for the destruction of American jobs. The president is doing a fine job all by himself. He does not give a tinker's damn about economic growth or job creation. He only wants to create his idea of a utopian society where everyone is equal and those who have skills and education and therefore employment take care of the rest of society. We are just about there. He only needs to figure out how to raise tax revenues as a percentage of GDP up to 25%. I think you are seeing his answer. Start liking it because he is going to get re-elected in November. Then America will get everything it deserves for that vile act. "From each according to their abilities to each according to their needs". This could not possibly be a more apt description of policy today. No, it is not in the Constitution. Rather it is the main thesis of The Communist Manifesto.

Have a great day comrades.

Seems to be getting nasty "over there".

This is what I think....

IF...IF the president could see the larger picture and if he would adopt the parameters of the Bowles-Simpson plan, the election would be over right now...TODAY! Taxes would be off the table, the economy would shed the funk it is in, and Mitt Romney would be John Kerry, which is what I think is going to happen anyway.

Now...discuss.

Oh yea, and throw Keystone XL in there too.

Steve Williamson is one smart dude. This is some commentary on James Bullard's recent speech.

Valentine's for economists...from Carpe Diem and Mark Perry

http://fosslien.com/heart/

Doing the math...

I turned 52 yesterday. I have been at ECU now for 26 years. Doing the math that means half my life has been here in East Carolina. I thank everyone for their kindness in making this my home.

My wife asked if I wanted 52 candles on my cake? I told her she'd have to call the fire department if she did.

More on the gold standard...Nuts!
