VAT tax coming for sure.

Dr. Parker - I know your area of expertise is economics, not politics, but how do you feel the Democrats will deal with the fallout of the VAT due to it's regressive nature? This certainly will hit the poor and middle class harder than the wealthy. For what it's worth, I think you're exactly right in your prediction. The VAT is a foregone conclusion. There is no other way to pay for this boondoggle.

Thanks for the kind words Richard. As in the UK for example, the VAT is reduced on so-called essentials such as food, clothing, baby car seats and fuel. Moreover, I would not be surprised to see some type of VAT refund at the lower end of the income spectrum. BTW Richard, could you email me at parkerr@ecu.edu. Thanks again
